Trump (Part 2) — A Very Global Problem?
Commenting on the US election as a Brit is fraught with difficulty. It’s not my country, not my right to vote, so not my place to comment, right? Why should I care if an overgrown, narcissistic man-baby, the love child of the Antichrist and a bag of Cheesy Wotsits, gets to sit in the world’s power throne — again?
It’s easy to mock Trump from afar. A preening simpleton, an Anime bully — he’s the bullsh*t-spewing manifestation of the secret, truer (but rarely discussed) American Dream:- ‘Born Rich, Get Richer’ — the one that’s absolutely unattainable to 99.9% of his followers.
He’s a hero in his own mind, with an ego inversely proportional to his doll-like hands. What’s ironic is that the threats of direct action by his followers should he lose (which is looking increasingly unlikely at 7.30am GMT) mean his victory would actually be better for Americans who abhor needless violence — but only in the very, very short term.
His rap sheet already reads like the Dwarves in a Snow White horror film:- Liar, Cheat, Narcissist, Bully, Fraudster, Conspiritor & Racist. He might look Dopey, but he’s a master media manipulator and social influencer. He’s invented a new, brilliant kind of political campaigning, not by manipulating the truth but by ignoring it altogether, bulldozing facts city by city and constructing giant, gaudy palaces of…
